Kyoto: Visit to a Zen temple
With only one more day in Kyoto, we decided to visit Nazen-ji Temple, the only Zen temple we have been to in Japan so far. It was in an area of Kyoto which was spotted with many temples in a park-like setting.

Unfortunately, visitors are not allowed to take photos of the inside rooms and walls of the temple; but you can see a glimpse of the beautiful gold sliding screens with ornate paintings that were the walls of each room.
Behind the temple was a cemetery, with a short stone path leading up into the mountains.
